Make A Difference In The Heritage
I am Advocate Moon Das, Income Tax Lawyer, and an entrepreneur. I have the desire to become an entrepreneur for the sake of human service. My venture's tagline is "Feel The Heritage of jamdani" My business page name is "House of Jamdani" I am working on Jamdani products, the traditional clothing of Bengal. Which is woven by the skillful hands of the weavers of Bengal.
I am hopeful that my initiative will work towards ensuring multiple uses of Jamdani products in Dhaka and especially for underprivileged women and to eliminate unemployment.
When men are jobless and women are lost to various handicaps after crossing 30 years suffer from depression and third gender these two categories of people are most neglected in our society. Especially those who have no education, and no employment, are still oppressed in many ways in society. No one accepts them for any good work. They are deprived of education, so they get involved in many kinds of bad work in the eyes of society and for money.
We will get a healthy and beautiful society only when the condition of people at the root level changes.
★Why did you think of working with Bangladeshi traditional Jamdani and can the problem be solved if you work with Jamdani using local products?
Jamdani clothing is one of the first GI-certified products in Bangladesh's apparel sector. The skillful process of Jamdani weaving is what the weavers of Bengal are able to weave with their skillful hands. Since the birth of Jamdani, the people of Bengal were limited to saree, punjabi and thrips. There are many types of ties available in the market but not Jamdani readymade long tie which I deal with, Jamdani bow tie and bridal tie packages, out of sarees for girls Jamdani fatwa, single kameez and jamdani maxi with gauze fabric which all women including pregnant women can easily wear. You can use it as a comfortable dress, there are different designs of dresses for children, and we have added various new designs in Punjabi for boys.
In Jamdani, as many innovations are being made in products, their production is low and therefore not easily available. Jamdani products are time-consuming as they are completely hand woven.
But if we can launch a website for the promotion of these products, the more the promotion of the product, the more we can inform a large number of customers and we can give showrooms without being limited online, then it is possible to create employment for some people.
Bangladesh has already gained a lot of praise outside the country in the clothing sector so that Jamdani Innovation products are not lost due to lack of promotion, the more people will know about it with the help of government and private organizations, the more newspapers, fashion magazines, and media. The reputation of Bengal is associated with Dhaka and Jamdani. Jamdani's innovative products are exportable. If it can be promoted properly, Dhaka is capable of creating a big market for Jamdani products in the country and outside the country. This will bring many changes in the lives of the artisans involved in jamdani and will increase the interest in learning jamdani work among the newcomers including those who express reluctance to weave jamdani without getting proper wages for this work. The looms will increase according to demand. The more clothes are produced, the more affordable the price will be. If different types of clothes in Jamdani are accepted in Bangladesh and outside the country, our Bangladeshi tradition of Jamdani will never be lost and will survive from generation to generation.
If the weaver survives, the weaver will survive, and the country will survive.
Jamdani artisans do not want their children to enter this profession. They do not get the guarantee that their products will be sold. No one wants to learn because they don't get enough opportunities.
My venture products like long tie, bow tie, loincloth, waistcoat, cotton shirt, fatwa, maxi, jamdani and ladies bag with jute, jamdani cotton gauze fabric, boys or girls of any age can make almost all kinds of clothes of their choice. The demand for these types of clothes will never decrease. There is no chance of stopping the demand for these clothes in Bangladesh and outside the country. Age after age will be needed.
The innovation of our entrepreneurs in the Jamadani industry will play a vital role in the economic development of the country as the promotion of a sustainable industry and investment in research and innovation is important.
One of the 17 goals of the SDGs is Goal 9, which states that countries with stable infrastructure can invest in more stable infrastructure to encourage small entrepreneurs to ensure sustainable industrial development. I am working with the goal of achieving SDG number 9 in trying to create a new industry with the traditional Jamdani products of Bangladesh.
★ By 2030, all countries are working to improve their infrastructure and renewables industries to make them sustainable, with measures in line with their respective capacities to increase resource-use efficiency and greater adoption of clean and environmentally sound technologies and industrial processes. Communication technology plays an important role in sustainable development.
★ If new industries are developed in infrastructure by the power of innovation, there will be the employment of a large number of people, which is important for the economy of the country.
